10 High-Quality, Affordable Furniture Stores You Should Bookmark Now

If you’re looking for cheap furniture stores but don’t want to sacrifice quality in a tight budget, we’ve found 10 of them that are right up your alley. And if that’s not enough we’ll also tell you how to maximize your savings at each.

When my husband and I got married, we bought a used Ikea couch for $150. It’s a horrible color, has terrible mystery stains and the pillows have lost their shape. It still unfolds into a bed though.

We bought our first house six months ago, and we still have the same couch. I think about my dream couch every time I walk through our brand new living room, I also think about the price tag. Is that too much to ask for something beautiful that can withstand a beating from future kids, and not cost me a quarter of my salary?

How much is too much for a couch? Apartment Therapy says if you only have $500 you should buy something vintage, in the days when construction and longevity mattered. If you want new furniture but you’re on a budget, they say investing $2,500-$3,000 is the way to go.

$3,000 is literally my entire home furnishing budget.

So what’s a girl to do when she wants quality but can’t afford the quantity of dollars it costs? For those of us looking for quality furniture on a budget, I’m checking out the 10 best online furniture stores and how to maximize your savings at each.

Cheap Furniture Stores and How to Save at Them

We made sure that all of our recommendations for cheap furniture stores provide the best quality for the price. So while some stores might have lower prices our picks are what we consider the most value.

Wayfair

These first three online stores are all part of the same company, owned by Wayfair, so they’ll have similar deals, like free shipping for purchases over $49. You can find Wayfair’s latest sale on the homepage but definitely visit their Sale page to find closeout deals, sales by department, and my favorite, the open box outlet where they sell returned and like-new products at deep discounts.

AllModern.com

AllModern offers mid century modern and Scandinavian design furniture, rugs, and decor at low prices. They curate sale selection and advertise trending sale items with a ticker down to the second the sale ends.

New sales launch every day at 11 am ET. And if that’s not enough they have outlet section with overstocked and discontinued items. Lastly, August is their birthday month where you can expect a site-wide sale of up to 65%.

Joss & Main

Just like Wayfair and AllModern, you’ll get free shipping on orders over $49 every day. Joss & Main started as a members-only private sales store but is now open for everyone meaning deals for everyone!

The daily and seasonal sales are curated by room on their Sales page. The Outlet Section has discontinued items at major discounts. Each one has a progress bar indicating how many of the remaining stock is left.

Overstock.com

When you sign up for the Overstock.com newsletter, you’ll get a 12% off coupon in your welcome email. Every section on the site has a “featured sales” subsection or you can check them all out on the Clearance page. You can also shop Overstock through Ebates to get cash-back on your purchases.

Active military, veterans, teachers, students, and first responders should take advantage of a free Club O Gold Membership, which normally costs $19.95 annually. Members get 5% rewards dollars on every purchase and free shipping on all orders.

Minimal & Modern

At this family owned online store specializing in, you guessed it, minimalist and modern furniture, you can get a solid wood framed sofa for as little as $539. Be on the lookout for Minimal & Modern’s sales including free shipping, no-tax, and 30% off Lanna furniture with code LANNA30. They also price match any online store’s price within 30-days of purchase.

Furniture Row

Furniture Row owns a slew of low-cost furniture stores including Sofa Mart, Oak Express, Denver Mattress, and Bedroom Expressions. But you don’t have to choose between shopping in-store vs. online, save at both!

When you sign up for their rewards program, Furniture Row will reward you with $50 for every 1000 in points you accumulate. You get a point for every dollar you spend and bonus points when you sign up and on your birthday. They also have the best furniture clearance deals on the list.

Furniture.com

If you’re looking for the best deals across all the major furniture stores, you can find them in one place, Furniture.com. They sell inexpensive furniture from major retailers including Rooms to Go. Sales are available online or enter your zip code for a list of all big-name store sales going on near you. New sales are added every Friday.

World Market

You don’t need to shop sales to get a great price at World Market, but they have so many it’s hard not to! Start by searching for a location near you and browsing your local ad. If you’re not fortunate enough to have one nearby, you can shop all their sales online.

And be sure to sign up for World Market Explorer Rewards. There are a lot of perks, but my favorites are the $10 reward for every $200 you spend and exclusive member pricing on beer and wine. Yep, you heard right, a cheap furniture store that also sells beer and wine.

Bob’s Discount Furniture

Bob’s Discount Furniture has online and local stores including 16 outlet locations. But lucky for us, you can shop their online store from anywhere. Check out their Outlet Bargains to get big discounts on discontinued furniture. You’ll be able to see how many of each item are left as you shop.

Sears Outlet

The Sears Outlet already provides great discounts on overstocked and discontinued Sears appliances, but there are ways to save even more here. Check out their weekly ad and daily deals to get the most savings.

Some Final Tips

  • Always check sales first. You may be able to afford a better quality brand by checking their clearance section before shopping the budget brands. Check for damaged or open box furniture too, a little refinishing can go a long way.
  • Consider online furniture stores. When looking to save money on furniture, online furniture stores have lower overhead costs than brick-and-mortar stores and they pass the savings onto the customer.
  • Look at how the furniture is made. If you’re skeptical about the deal, take a look under the hood. If you’re looking at a sofa with a hardwood frame and feather wrapped cushions you’re going to pay more than one made out of plywood stapled together with a foam pad on top. Quality doesn’t have to be your primary focus, but it can be a deciding factor.
