Wayfair
These first three online stores are all part of the same company, owned by Wayfair, so they’ll have similar deals, like free shipping for purchases over $49. You can find Wayfair’s latest sale on the homepage but definitely visit their Sale page to find closeout deals, sales by department, and my favorite, the open box outlet where they sell returned and like-new products at deep discounts.

- Always check sales first. You may be able to afford a better quality brand by checking their clearance section before shopping the budget brands. Check for damaged or open box furniture too, a little refinishing can go a long way.
- Consider online furniture stores. When looking to save money on furniture, online furniture stores have lower overhead costs than brick-and-mortar stores and they pass the savings onto the customer.
- Look at how the furniture is made. If you’re skeptical about the deal, take a look under the hood. If you’re looking at a sofa with a hardwood frame and feather wrapped cushions you’re going to pay more than one made out of plywood stapled together with a foam pad on top. Quality doesn’t have to be your primary focus, but it can be a deciding factor.
