  • These sound great!! Sadly, there’s only one for Windows Phone. LOL It always happens. Windows Phone has one which sounds very similar to HomeBudget with Sync. It’s called MoBudget (I know, not a really great name). Like HomeBudget with Sync it tracks expenses, monitors income, keeps track bill due dates (and reminds you of them), tells you bank balances, and makes the use of graphs and charts. MoBudget also lets you set up a savings area towards a goal you specify and you can also transfer money between accounts and keep track of credit cards.

  • I use SavingStar and it is great! I actually just got a payment from them this morning. I use it at Kroger, and it seems to stack just fine with Kroger’s digital coupons. It just takes forever for your purchases to be recognized. I haven’t used it with any other stores- maybe some are faster.

I am definitely going to try out Grubgly! I’ve never even heard of that one before. Thanks for the tip!

  • I love SavingStar! They do pay! I especially love the coupons like spend $40 on Smart Ones get 5 back! I always eat Smart Ones anyway!

    • It’s good to hear a testimonial from someone who uses it. I think I will check it out.
Mint is an interesting one, I had never heard of that app and definitely need a hand keeping track on my finances closer.
      Thanks.

  • I wish more of these were available in Australia. Great apps for those living in the United States though, and you can save a lot of money on them! The only app I really use to “save money” are passive income ones like Apptrailers and SBTV.

  • Wow thanks for the list. I’ve never used saving apps like this and I think they will come in very hand for me since I’m now living alone and I have to really budget the rent and all my other expenses. Thanks for this!

  • Mint is one of my favourite apps and I use it almost exclusively for managing my budget. I’m one of the types of people that does the vast majority of their spending on their credit cards so as to reap the rewards, but also because it’s so much easier to track cash flow when it can be looked at in Mint.

The trends and budget mechanics make it extremely simple to keep an eye on your monthly spending and you’re able to set notices for when you hit certain thresholds. For parents, you could set this up on your childrens’ accounts to keep an eye on their spending habits (if that is your prerogative) or to teach them proper budgeting techniques.

Overall, highly recommended. I had qualms about security at first, but seeing as the company is Intuit, their track record is pretty well known.

  • These are some very interesting phone apps – I am definitely going to have to try some of them. I love SavingStar – and I use Ibotta too which is amazing.
