Privacy

DontPayFull never receives your screenshots or anything in them. AInotate is software that runs on your computer, and we operate no service behind it. It hands its images to the AI agent you use. If that agent is Claude, Codex, Gemini, Cursor or another hosted model, the images become part of your conversation and are processed by that provider under its own privacy terms.

What the tool processes

• Web pages you ask it to capture, loaded in a browser on your machine. If you attach it to a browser where you are signed in (over CDP), captures can show that signed-in session.
• Screens, windows and image files you ask it to capture or open.
• Text it reads from them, from the page itself or through OCR on your computer.

Where images are kept

Finished images are saved in ~/Pictures/AInotate unless you choose another folder, plus a backup copy if you configure one. Drafts and raw captures go to your system's temporary folder and are not deleted by AInotate; your system clears that folder on its own schedule. You can delete any of these files at any time. Deleting a file does not remove copies already shared with your agent's provider.

What it does not do

• No account and no sign-in.
• No telemetry, analytics or crash reports.
• No uploads to DontPayFull. Its own network traffic is loading the pages you ask it to capture, and downloading the package and browser when you install them.

Redaction

Web shots made with shoot look for emails, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs, API keys, tokens, JWTs, and password or personal-data fields, and cover them with solid blocks. Screen, window and image captures are redacted only when you turn it on with --privacy auto. Raw capture tools return an unredacted preview to your agent so it can find positions. Blur is never used to hide data, because blur can be reversed.

Detection is best effort. It can miss text drawn inside images or canvases, unusual formats, data split across elements, and content from embedded frames of other sites. Look at every image before you share it.

These pages

The Labs pages set no cookies and load no analytics or third-party scripts. Requests to dontpayfull.com pass through Cloudflare, which serves the site. Everything else on dontpayfull.com is covered by the DontPayFull privacy policy.

Terms

License

AInotate is free software, published by DontPayFull under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later. The license governs your use, copying, modification and distribution of the code, and nothing on this page limits the rights it gives you. If you run a modified AInotate as a network service, the AGPL requires you to offer its source to the users of that service.

No warranty

AInotate is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, as the license states.

Your responsibility

• Capture only what you are allowed to capture, and follow the terms of the sites and apps you use it on.
• Redaction is best effort. Check every image before you share it.
• Your AI agent and its provider have their own terms, which apply to what you do through them.

Name and logo

The software license does not grant rights to the AInotate name or logo. Versions you modify and distribute must not use them, or suggest that DontPayFull made or endorses them, without our written permission.
